50's Christmas Party - DIY Cookie Dough Dip, Doily Candles & Ornament Baskets

I recently threw a 50's Christmas Party for the Young Adult Worship team at Lakewood Church. I had a lot of great decorating ideas for it- but the party mixed with finals week was little much and a lot of my ideas fell through. Regardless, the party was a really fun time and the snacks were a hit!

I made a trillion cake balls. It took me 4 hours!!
Ahh, my pride and joy. Cookie Dough Dip! I found this on How Sweet It Is, where I find a lot of incredibly unique and delicious recipes.

  • DIY Lace Doily Candles: I don't know why I originally bought paper doilies, but I did. Once my plan A failed, I decided to cut the doilies and wrap them around the candle holders. They turned out so beautiful!
  • Also, after another plan A failed, I used these yarn balls as ornaments in my assorted ornament baskets. They turned out really cute! All I did was buy a few foam balls, then began wrapping the red yarn around them until I couldn't see the white foam any more.

Surprisingly, people didn't put up much of a fight in dressing up. There were only 2 people that wore normal clothes- to whom I withheld snacks. (jk)

My fantastic boyfriend & I!
